Gardening and Growing
It is the time of year for winter planting with garlic and winter salad popular with plot-holders.
Those taking part in Capital Growth’s ‘Harvest-o-meter’ by weighing their produce, have grown the equivalent of 295 meals so far this year, 23.6 Kg of produce.
Forest School
Windrush Primary School have booked morning session in The Forest School for their Early Years classes.
Volunteers
The Wednesday volunteer group has been looking after the communal areas in the Garden, including the pond, fruit bushes, herb garden, and paths. New volunteer Kalvis has contributed his knowledge and enthusiasm for plants bring in climbers and a vine that he had grown at home. Members of The Good Gym the fitness group have continued to work as volunteers on the first Saturday of the months.
Outdoor Art and Gardening Therapy
The Community Garden has been approached by an NHS outdoor art therapist interested in setting up sessions for her clients and a ‘Gardening Therapist’ exploring the idea of setting up garden therapy sessions.
Fundraising
The Urban Harvest Open Day, on Saturday September 14th, was successful with Dinah’s lavender bags eventually selling out. The Community Garden ran a fundraising stall at the recent All Souls Fayre.

Improvements, Maintenance and Gardening
The aging Forest School gate has been replaced and repairs made to the Forest School shed and pergola. Re-cycled fencing has been installed up the side of the Community Garden, thanks to a gift from neighbours in Kinveachy Gardens
